GIFT For Young Adults
Sepideh’s first post graduate career and background in Student Life/Student Affairs has given her a great understanding of the needs of college students. In her many years working as director of residence life, student activities and judicial affairs, Sepideh met and got to know students from freshman to senior years. As she and her staff welcomed and helped move students into resident halls, she noticed a lack of essential “life skills”. In her role as residence life director, she developed a residence life handbook on rules and policies, held nutrition and cooking classes on campus, introduced yoga on campus, designed a three credit college course and taught students college event planning, resulting in the establishment of an annual International Gala featuring and celebrating cultures from around the world. She published monthly newsletters and with every article and event, her purpose was to help students gain the social skills needed to be successful in their professional and personal life. In all her work with college age students, she realized the time to teach these essential life skills is before they start college, perhaps in high school. That was something that stayed on her mind through transition to motherhood and her second career.
Sepideh’s second career as a Life Coach has given her the opportunity to bridge that gap and design courses, classes and seminars helping high school students gain clarity and purpose on their next steps after high school.
Through GIFT for Young Adults, Sepideh is able to reach out and work with high school students in private sessions and classes in discovering their passion/s.
